I knew that I would run across different bugs
when moving to Africa. I just did not
expect to have to deal with the Earwigs.
They are these small bugs with pinchers on their back tail and scales that are just
everywhere. The walls of the rest house
are covered with them and they crawl into every nook and cranny. They are also impossible to kill. You cannot drown them, they can swim and they laugh in the face of being sprayed with
raid. You have to smash them pretty hard for them to
die. Not a light tap of the foot or the fly
swatter . . . I have found a heavy textbook works well. I am just hoping that they will be going away
soon and that I will not have to deal with them for my whole year in Africa!
Yuck!!
