What am I doing!

I am working at the Baptist Medical Center in the village of Nalerigu.  It is a mission hospital located in the Northern Region of Ghana.  It was founded in 1958 and has about 120 beds.  It has a long tradition of treating the patients of this area, as well as from as far south as Accra, as far east as Togo, and as far north as Burkina Faso.

I am the current Fellow of International Medicine at the hospital.  My focus is mainly on practicing general surgery and expanding my surgical skills.  I am finding as my time progresses here I am practicing internal medicine, OB/GYN, surgery, orthopedics, and pediatrics!  Everyday day is interesting and varied.
