Scrubs hanging to dry

Since I have last written, the rains have come “plenty” (as they would say here), which is great for the farmers, but I have found it is not that great for my surgical schedule!  All the gowns, sheets, drapes, etc are washed and dried outside before they are packaged and sterilized.  I have now learned that rain everyday = wet surgical supplies = cancelled surgeries.  A surgical schedule is always a very fluid thing as emergencies or other problems arise . . . however, I never thought in a million years I would have to tell my patients their surgery has been cancelled due to the rain.
